Saint Mary’s Volleyball has established itself as the premier youth volleyball summer camp of the Bay Area. For 19 years, we have provided kids with an exceptional, memorable, and fun experience. Compared to all other volleyball camps in Northern California and beyond, the feedback from participants is outstanding.
This camp is designed to be in two sections:
Morning session/first section: Campers will be divided into groups to work on the specific skills of setting, attacking, and passing/defense (libero skills). This morning session is designed to in-depth instruction and training on essential skills, focusing on the core fundamentals needed to execute them effectively. All campers will work on these skills to enhance their overall game. While the training won't be position-specific, it will be skill-focused and organized into stations for targeted development.
Video learning: To help improve all players' volleyball IQ, Head Coach Tyler Hildebrand will do a video learning session on how to study the game and the importance of learning from the highest level through observing and recognizing patterns.
Afternoon session/second section: This is where the campers will go to their respective positions. It will be a combined camp where the focus will be on offensive and defensive specific systems. This will be full play, constraint-based learning drills and competitive drills. The afternoon session is designed to implement the morning session fundamentals into the more live based random environment of 6 v 6 volleyball.
This camp is designed to have a great progression that accommodates all skill levels and challenges them in appropriate ways. We believe that through proven training progressions, this progression-based camp is the best way for players to learn how to improve.
What To Bring:
All participants will be given an SMC Volleyball Tshirt.
All Saint Mary’s Athletic camps are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).
